I think this one was too big WW to not explode in the US, considering the label pushed it everywhere.
And the sound isn't anything alien to the US (unlike the other UK housey smashes, which probably wont be hits).

This is late even by North American standards
Normally the US has like a 2 month lag, not 6 months.
