Best Buy/mall CD shops are overpriced. I'll just pre-order/buy on Amazon for the explicit.
But this is really ridiculous. I understand why they're doing it, but in this type of release I think they could be a bit more circumstantial. BEYONCE' is going to be a huge seller physically, regardless of the massive rush to the iTunes exclusive. All they're doing is giving business to other stores, not making a statement.
So Wal-Mart is only selling the clean version and Target isn't selling it at all? Looks like those soccer moms will be rushing to Wal-Mart while the rest of us run to iTunes.
EDIT: But I guess that's only for American Wal-Marts because I bought Bangerz and ARTPOP explicit there
How is Target a flop? Just because Wal-Mart is bigger doesn't mean Target is struggling. Trust me, it isn't.

They didn't carry Nicki because they didn't think it would be profitable. Wal-Mart didn't either. It was literally ONLY Best Buy or FYE. They have the same reason for Bey and Frank. It has NOTHING to do with race.
It's a bummer but Target is not "pressed" or "salty". It's a business, and not a business that really focuses on music sales. They carry a lot of exclusive albums but the music sections aren't huge like at other places. It's not personal because Beyonce didn't give them the exclusive, it's what they feel is best for business. It's not a person, it's a corporation. Personal feelings play literally 0 part in this.
What are you talking about? Did you not even read the article? They're refusing to sell the best-selling album of the year because another retailer got the exclusive first. That's not a logical business decision, it has everything to do with their personal feelings about digital retailers getting something before they do.
I don't think they're doing it to make a point to Beyonce, it's for other artists. Beyonce is obviously better off with this business plan and doesn't need Target, but other artists might, and this decision to not sell the album helps deter other artists from doing this.
But it doesn't really work as a scare tactic if you're the only retailer doing it..

They can order a SMALL amount to test if the customers are really buying or not have her in the 'new releases' section, but... not have the album AT ALL?!
