Wild Nothing • Empty Estate - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Though I've never listened to anything else by Wild Nothing, I thought an 8-track body of work may be a good place to start without getting antsy. I was right! This body of work is quite interesting and colorful, as well as stimulating. It's pretty cohesive and nice, a great first listen for the group, and I plan to possibly get into their other work, as well, now.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I've been a low-key Burial fan for a few years now, and I always enjoy the ethereal dubs he puts out. Lately, he's stuck to EPs more-so than full-lengths, which is sad, but after listening to this (released just last week) I was blown away. I really enjoyed it instantly, and am excited for a further move with this sound to be pursued. Simply beautiful.

Wynter Gordon • Sanguine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The second installment to Wynter's Human Condition free EP series, Sanguine proved to be a promising part of my early 2014! Spawning two songs that really clicked with me, the body of work is in general quite beautiful, and was used perfectly for background music to put me to sleep. It worked promisingly as a follow-up to Doleo, and I hope for a third part in 2014!

Gold Panda • Trust - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was great to open the year with a new EP from Gold Panda (and even better with his sophomore album release in the summer)! It provided for great listening-to-and-feeling-at-night music, as well as driving-around-when-I-should-be-in-bed music. I also appreciate the way in which he complied this EP, it feels like a nice little cohesive project.

FKA twigs • EP2 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - One of my more pleasant finds this year, FKA twigs delivered some great electronic music that seems to have paved its' own sublet. The visual tie to the music is also very unique and respectable, and I love what they're doing... hope to see lots more from them in 2014, actually. Not one skip-worthy track on this EP. Next-level!

CHVRCHES • Recover - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Generally, I like to hold off on listening to some artists until they release a proper full-length (unless I really like them, or something). I didn't for CHVRCHES. I'm glad I listened to this EP, too, it's really great! The popular Recover, although grand, wasn't the highlight for me. I was taken back by how much I thoroughly enjoyed the electronic twists used, as well as the multiple vocalists in the group. It made me realize their debut was definitely a good time investment!

The flawless Dr. Luke productions make this girl sound like a damn princess! I also purchased this on iTunes, drag me please. The bangers she made in here were blast-in-car worthy, to say the least, and with some real flawless pop melodies. This girl, given the right hypnotic am, can make anyone a stan! Even someone cool like me!
