Here are four weeks before the X'mas:

What I want to say is these fours weeks are critical.
Cuz we don't know who the hell will be the X'man digital #1, which will definitely get pretty much boost.
And I think that one could be Timber, which is now approaching The Monster.

I really hope that we can make it.
It's so heartbreaking if this song peaks at #2, like Run This Town.

Sales are going to continue to lower for the next four weeks until Christmas week. It falls on a Wednesday, so we will see the gift card effect take place during the tracking week of December 23 - December 29.

WIth that said, don't be surprised if a song tops HDS with sales in the 100Ks. This happened with Scream and Shout, Single Ladies, We Found Love, etc.

Timber should be getting the HDS #1, but I have a feeling The Monster will continue being #1 on the Hot 100 because of its massive airplay (plus it won't lag that far behind on digital sales.)

I don't get why so many Rihanna fans are worried about The Monster getting blocked permanently all of a sudden. I'm like a huge Eminem fan and i'm not worried at all. Look at how the airplay is going right now. Look at the digital sales. The Video will be released soon. It's going to hit #1. The question is just how many weeks it will stay at #1.

I don't think most of them are worried -- just frustrated, possibly because of it being blocked from spending even more time at #1. It's kinda like how Roar was at the beginning of its chart run -- being blocked by Blurred Lines for a few weeks until it took over.

But, TM's airplay should keep it in contention for #1 for some time. With the freeze coming up, they will be safe at or near the top of Radio Songs. Its streams are stabilizing at a staggering 6 million plays. Staggering because these are just audio streams -- imagine when the video drops. They will probably do well over 10 million US streams weekly (if their numbers are anything like LTYWL).

Glad Pitbull is serving a great song though. I really haven't used him that much since Give Me Everything an International Love.

I guess i would be too if i posted on these board back when Without Me by Eminem got blocked or The Real Slim Shady by Eminem but those never hit number 1 and i would have been thrilled if those just got 1 week each. LTWYL got 6 weeks correct? I mean I don't think i would feel any different if that say only got 3 weeks.

Roar got 2 weeks at #1 correct? Does that make that any less of a hit than Royals because that got 9 weeks? What's going to sell more in the long run? I'm someone who likes Royals more than Roar but if you ask me...Roar is the bigger hit of the two.

Yes, it's frustrating that it lost out by 0.4% this week and yes it will be frustrating if it loses out next week because of a Viral video parodying and making fun of a song. But it's the day in age we live in.

Now say some Timber viral video comes out in two weeks...Ill start getting frustrated as well. I can live with Royals getting #1 this week. I hate the rules about viral videos tho...so next week,,,Ill be frustrated for the first time about The Monster if it misses out on #1 next week...only because i hate this viral video nonsense. Harlem Shake...now this Miley thing? Nothing to do with it being an Eminem getting screwed because of it. I hated when the Harlem Shake went #1 because of it.

But I guess the frustrating thing for me is..people making predictions based on want and not logic. Saying The Monster will never hit number 1 because you hate Rihanna is not very intelligent. You're close -- LTYWL spent 7 weeks at #1 (and I think 2 or three weeks at #2 before reaching the summit), but you're right -- weeks at #1 =/= being a bigger hit than something that spent less weeks at #1.

Also, I think Royals and Roar will end up performing similarly and ranking around the same on the year-end list in the US.

The streaming rule is a bit of a mess. I think BB will make changes over time as they see fit -- whenever that may be

Oh gosh, the amount of desperation in this thread referring to TM being blocked again is just sad. You do realize the monster has been top 3 it's entire release without an ounce of promo? They haven't released multiple videos, performed the song on a wide array of tv shows, or released nudes as a last ditch effort. Even if it gets blocked again by the viral video it'll still be a contender for #1 when the video comes out. I guess it has been awhile since a certain fan base was in the running for a #1 song, so in that sense the ignorance is understandable. Was youtube even out back then? It's been so long.
