For all that Brit has lacked as an artist (which is plenty), her producers often made up for it in her previous studio records with their forward-looking, and fresh production and beats, all of which is completely lacking in BJ. In its place are faceless EDM tracks modeled off of Scream&Shout and anonymous mid-tempos/ballads devoid of any soul or wit.
Looking back at the album being hyped as "personal," "urban," her "Ray of Light"-esque album "for the fans," it all just feels like a sad joke after enduring all 36 minutes of the standard version.

I used to be a big fan, and I know about her history, and it's not a very personal album. That's not a bad thing, but I don't get why they are trying to make it sound like it is.

See, it's not that you're just not a Britney fan, that was just my vague way of putting it. You BLATANTLY dislike her (don't say you don't because it's obvious), and I'd even go as far as to say you hate her. So you not seeing why it's personal (or just acting like you don't) is not surprising, and doesn't really matter since nobody cares
Also, I wasn't saying you have to be a Britney fan to get it, I was saying that since you aren't a Britney fan, it doesn't really matter that ya don't get it. Cause like with what I said above, literally nobody cares what you think

Ouch.
Even though Femme Fatale was better IMO, I actually thought that it would end up in the 55-60 range...

Teenage Dream's wig isn't safe!
I would probably agree with the overall score of the album thus far though. I only really liked Alien. And Work Bitch is my work out jam, so that too I guess.

I think it deserves the score it has, it's not a very good album bar a couple songs

I used to like Britney Jean, but now I hate this album cause the critics said it's no good and I don't have opinions of my own. I hate it as much as I hate ARTPOP or Whatever Katy Perry Named Her Album, which I also hate cause Metacritic said I should.

but youre kinda right (even though it was meant to be ironic ofc). The enormous dragging of Artpop really make me feel bad and guilty while listening to it. I enjoyed music more when I wasnt on atrl and didnt care about any charts.

Oh chile, you know you hate them cause they didn't spent 23 weeks at #1 in the US and worldwide... The cirtics just confirmed it.

The moment Will was announced as the executive producer I knew a musical tragedy was bound to happen. He should never ever be trusted again.
Anyway, hyping this as a personal album just because her sister is on it and her ray of light just because william orbit produced one song was just an absolutely awful idea.
That besides the generic David Guetta EDM that makes FF Dr Luke beats look as the most innovative music ever in comparison + the duration of the disc, make it impossible for the critics not to drag it.
The only thing Britney got left was her music, that has disappeared as well. She is totally pointless as an artist now

Thats pretty high considering the album has ONLY one listenable song (alien ) its absolute ****!
Guess thats what happens when you let Britney takes control of everything, like its been reported.

Preach. Electra Heart was dragged by the critics and got 57 while it was a good album, this should get a 40.

Britney never has high Metacriyic scores so this doesn't surprise me. I mean, Femme Fatale is her second highest scoring album on there while Blackout is her third worst.

The closing fragility of Don't Cry – her best vocal since Everytime – frustratingly only hints at what could have been.

Ugh, I hate this line.
