Blacks throw around the "n" word to each other with no care, but it's offensive if someone else says it especially a white person in reference to a black person.

I personally find the "f" to be very offensive and I don't even use it myself. The "f" word is obviously in tech. terms a cigarette basically, but the offensive part comes from when they used to throw homosexuals on a burning pile of "f**s" / burning sticks and would watch them die. It's just a ugly word that shouldn't be thrown around just like the "n" word.

The context here is that the term "gay" is being used as an adjective. Now he could have used the alternative "effeminate" but that is useless in a rap verse (too bookish, clinical and generic - not the kind of word used in a song).

I think that's problematic of course, but those terms are much more broad, and way more redefined than f-ggot. For example, if you are called a ho you perhaps are being labelled as such due to your behaviour, not your sexuality which you had no control over. He may have no problem with being gay, but his lyrics suggest he does, and his lyrics endorse violence against gay people which is the problem.

I'm exhausted with "artists" writing off their offensive behavior and language to artistic expression. Stop the bs of, "I'm just being me" and it's not meant to offend anyone. It is offensive. To say you "support" the lgbt community and then consciously use language that you know is offensive to the lgbt community is a serious conflict. Pop girls usage of bitch and heaux isn't as egregious because they are women, not because of how commonly the word is used. It's the equivalent of blacks using the n-word as opposed to whites using it. Gays calling each other the F-word does not carry the same, historic, systemic, oppressive weight as it does when a cis-gendered, straight, white male uses it to describe homosexuals .
