no. if you were actually in their position, you'd know this isn't always gonna work and it usually doesn't work considering people are graduating from college and jobless

A lot of those college grads have majored in something that has no demand anymore. Turn to some kind of engineering or tech field and you'll definitely get a job.

Yea I get you, but at least from my own personal experience from family and people I know who are on either one of those, they just sit and do nothing. Even when there's jobs available.

This was going to happen either way. Soon enough, every man will be responsible for himself, not the government. No job, no money, no food.

And even from the most prestigious colleges, finding a job is hard. I remember watching a show about this guy who graduated with a high GPA from Harvard, and he couldn't find a decent job for years.

The thing is though even if they do go to community, which is expensive all together, ESPECIALLY if the need-based aid runs out, there's no guarantee that you'll get a job.

So you'll be working and wasting money for something you may not be able to find a job in.

aren't most community colleges something like $600/semester tho? A student loan for 2 years of that shouldn't be too bad.

There's a group of people in between the very rich who can easily afford college, and the poor who get complete aid packages that are basically ****ed. They get some aid, and when they graduate are saddled with loans that are incredibly difficult to pay off. Not to mention that they just doubled the college loan interest rates

Going to a technical college might be a good option though.
2 years, training in electrical work, plumbing, etc. Make a good $30-$100/hour once you are out, and then even more when you start a private practice/your own business.

I can't believe how ignorant some of the members are on here.

I've never had to live off of food stamps but it's not that hard to understand that some people do need them. People act like anyone can go out and get a job to live off of. Having a job does not equal having security or having enough money to live off of.

And when it comes to the fast food jobs, most fast food employees are part time workers to start, so the $14 a hour thing doesn't really apply to most.

And no one who has it better off should ever come for these programs, because anything can happen and you could find yourself living off of them. Get sick and have to quit your job and lose your insurance? You're ****ed. And that's just one of many possible situations that could happen to you.
