Why would a teen-pop act sign with a hip hop label though? They would have no idea how to market him. Like how they signed "DJ" Paris Hilton

He should've gone with RCA, Capitol, or Interscope tbh. All the popular acts on YMCMB have branched off onto their own label.

Drake has OVO, that's all he associates with now, he's become more of an acclaimed album artist and less of a "rhyme everything with *****" hip hop artist like other people on the label. And Nicki's branching off too but idk what hers is called.

That's not my point. Nicki and Drake are both trying to differentiate themselves from YMCMB because (no offense, I don't see what's so bad about it) many people don't respect them. Lil Wayne is constantly mocked, while other labels like GOOD produce critically acclaimed albums and massive superstars. YMCMB was the it label back in like 2010/2011 but GOOD has really stolen the spotlight.
