Also - in other news, the Lightning Saga splash page now has a Steam logo along with Playstation ad Xbox and the domain on the official Square website says that a PC date is incoming. Be prepared. The Lightning Saga is probably coming to Steam folks.

Hey, if you want women placed in there only as sacrificial lambs for the male hero to get some sort of backbone for the final fight, I say ask for females. But Square Enix does not change its spots.

On the contrary, it means the game is actually going to be released. There is a mod on NeoGAF who is actually an inside source at Square. She says that Nomura and Square are not on good terms and they essentially booted him from the project and left him with KH3. Tabata has already promised a working demo for FF T-0's release.

Also - random sidenote but Tabata had been co-directing this game for over a year now. It's not like they just dropped it on him out of nowhere. The duo had been working together for quite awhile. If anything, if Nomura doesn't deliver with Kingdom Hearts III, it very likely means he will be leaving sooner rather than later.

well most of the women in FF series haven't been there just to be saved so if a woman WAS in the game I doubt she would be a helpless princess for the main character to rescue.

I just think they should balance out the roster more. has there ever been a FF in the past 20 years that didn't have a strong female character?

now it just seems like they are pandering to all of the people who complained about the lightning series.

The game has been like this since 2011 (all male playable cast). If anything, it is the answer to X-2.

I mean I know its probably too late to add a female character but I love them so much. Especially in the FF series.

X-2 was a blast. I can honestly say that I had no problems with female only playable characters in that game

Oh, I'm not saying I have any issues (X-2 is better than X in my book, suck on that haters), just that I'm willing to let them try something new. You have to admit, four men on a road trip around the world is pretty original for a jRPG. It's different. It sounds like there are some pivotal female characters tho. And it is always possible that there will be a last minute addition to the party, like Fang in Final Fantasy XIII. I guess we will know more in March when the demo comes out.

I'm interested if Stella and Luna are one in the same. Did they rename her? Is it a new codename? Regardless, whatever they did to Stella's appearance is for the better. She looks great.

Two other questions remain: who was the dragoon Noctis was fighting against in that trailer from a few years ago (the 2012 trailer)? And who is this woman that is in the 2013 trailer? Hm.
