Guys, we pretty much have known this for months, what's with the meltdowns? My stance is that so long as he does not produce the bulk of the album (I could handle 2-4 tracks MAX), I'm sure it will be classic Britney per usual.
Basically he'll put britney in with the producers writers that he think will most benefit her and the sound they're going for. He'll also be the one in charge of narrowing down and picking the final songs for the album. His job is to make sure the album stays in the direction they agree on.
The ignorance. I cant deal. He'll just oversee song selections, probably produce a few tracks himself, and give the album a cohesive vibe.
And his work with Cheryl is impeccable. I, at least, enjoy it very much. Stop worrying, we dont even have a released date!
"I was like, 'OK, look, guys, me and Britney need to have lunch four times a month for three months before I even try to go in the studio with her,'" will.i.am said. "Because we need to talk. We need to talk about what she's excited about in life. I gotta talk about the things that hurt her. I gotta talk about the things that make her concerned – she's a mother. I gotta talk to her about all the things that her fans want to talk to her about. I gotta be the vehicle between her and her fans." He added, "We can't do another song about going on the dance floor. Really? Didn't we see a bunch of Britney doing that already? Don't we want to see something that comes from her heart?"
They basically just pick the final tracklisting, but sometimes more depending upon the artist/situation.

How are y'all talking about "ddd BFB part 2" when it CLEARLY says he doesn't want to keep making "penetrate me on the dance floor" records for her. Can y'all READ? Reading is so essential.
At them coming in here to drag and dragging themselves by not being able to read the OP.
Well, he did executively produce Cheryl Cole's A Million Lights (which was one of my favs from last year) and he was only featured on one song.
If he did it like that I will be here for it. But knowing that Britney is a bigger name then Cheryl, he might try to ***** off of her by featuring himself numerous times.
