A friend was having technical difficulties w/ something important and needed to borrow my computer. Updating nao.
#35. The xx - "Angels"
Initially disappointing in a way due to the fact that it's nowhere near as exciting as anything on their debut, but that really isn't the point. Gorgeous in so many ways after the right amount of listens.
No new ground is broken here, and it's easily the worst track ever to be the highlight of one of Her albums. But it succeeds in properly doing what about 25 other songs already released this year failed at, plus it's catchy as hell.
#31. Gorillaz featuring James Murphy & Andre 3000 - "DoYaThing"
This might be the last we hear from them for a while , but what a way to go. Fairly meaningless — I guess? — but also really fun, with ANOTHER excellent great verse from Legend.
I can't do descriptions for these today, maybe I'll edit later.
#30. Le1f - "Wut"
I don't think this was his official "introduction" to the world, but I'll take it as such. He immediately establishes a compelling persona; something new for hop hop.
