Go to other countries, especially the poorer ones where they'd be happy just to happy to have customers than wanting your tips. It's not required in many countries except I guess US, Canada, AUS and Europe. You can check me on that.
But yes in the US. They are trash if they don't.
Oh nooo, I totally get that. I'm talking about restaurant service in the US, primarily.
----
Let me break it down for you girls: - Working in a restaurant IS hard work. If you've never worked in one (as waitstaff), don't tell me how easy it is for me to cater to 4-5+ tables at a time + making sure all my ducks are in a row + sidework (which is commonly forgotten about).
- Even if you DON'T want to tip the standard 15-20%, even $2 or $3 is appreciated. Trust me.
- If you are too broke to throw $2 on to your tab at a restaurant, you need to stick to the drive thru. At least that way no one will be wasting an hour of their time babysitting you through your meal.
Holy crap. Some of ya'll saying that some states have like $3 Minimum wage
Thank god I live in Canada. I make $9.70/hr and it'll be moving up to $10.25 by the end of the year
There's no state in the US that has $3 minimum wage...if you work a job that receive tips, your job can pay u less then minimum wage since you typically make up the difference in receiving tips

We don't tip here often in Australia. waitresses get paid $16-18 upwards depending on your age. My friend is a manager at a busy pub & they still get tips, etc but its mainly because of good service. Its still quite foreign here as its not the norm
I've been overseas to Europe & tipped at a lot of restaurants. it was just what everyone did, l never questioned why. I've been to some poorer countries in Asia & these people need the tips to live so I'd always leave a tip. whatever happened to helping out people? If l can afford the time to sit & eat a meal then l can afford to tip.
I SEE THIS ALL THE TIME! My parents just raised me to give them money. I never knew so many people neglected it until I moved out o.0
I don't know about you, but I kinda want to keep the lady with the scissors in her hand and my hair in her fingers happy
the money that u pay to get your hair done usually helps pay the rent for the salon, salon supplies, and whatever other bills for the salon...so tips help to pay the stylists...and keep in mind hair stylists pay rent for the chair they work at in a salon
Stop it please.
You go spend time at the ''Public library'' on a Pop forum anticipating Pop albums and worshipping Pop singers instead of looking for a job??? Tell me about your journey back and forth to the library when you were waiting for your account to be verified please.
You know, money doesn't rain on people, you gotta fight to get it.
And if you weren't paying for the food then why are you even bothered?
I'm under 18 and don't need a job and go to School (not college) and live with my parents.

You can actually stop trying.
HA!
AHAHA!
And here I was, getting all mad that a rude person was going to restaurant and not tipping. You don't even know what it is like to work. And just like that

Still in the public library? You need to go back home to study.
If you're struggling, having a job would help, it's not hard to get one if you actually try to.

You can actually stop lying now.
Isn't that what libraries are for?
Are you saying I'm lying about being underage? Do you need to see my social networking as proof?
Let's not now. I will easily put it in place, I have no reason to need to lie and have already said my age here to people so you can have a seat instead of continuing to only look crazy.
I even leave tips at McDonalds. Its just courtesy. Plus they make like $3 an hour. The pay already sucks. Not to mention that tip is shared among all the other waiters on staff.
I tip based on service. I went to the Friday's in NY's Timesquare ... wasn't even 21 yet ... spilled the drink I got without being carded and my waitress brought me a new one free of charge ... I tipped her $60 on my OWN and was with 5 other people. She cleaned up that night but she deserved it.
It's like at Target, paying for your stuff then paying the cashier for scanning them.
you really can't tell the difference between the work a waiter does and the work a Target cashier does?

how rude of you, I work at Target and cashiers do more than "take your money". I'm not saying we deserve tips, but you didn't need to go that far to demean the work I do.

Yeah but you're obviously distracted.
And no not about your age, and you CAN work.
Seriously you think I'm gonna believe that you go to the Library EVERYDAY and go on ATRL?
