The logic behind the economy begin more imprtant than Gays Right... It's not only about Marriage. It's about visitation rights, health care and numerous of other things. Gay people are still struggling to have in the country. You wouldn't see Black people vote for a racist president just because his economic views (that STILL have no in def explanation) appaer more promising. You people have so much faith in Romney yet forget the people in his administration are some of the same ones who either support or were with the bush administration. When Paul Ryan was in senate he VOTED to enlarge the national debt in order to fund military expenses. Paul Ryan is alos the hypocrite who used his father Social Security to help pay for his college expensive. But is now ruling against it for other doing the same. I would rather have a president, who sees me as an equal citizen of this country and one who has a history of lowering the NATIONAL deficit to what is now 7.8% than some Religious extremest who flip-flop on his views to whatever is selfishly convenient for him.

SwagLikeALegend, are you aware of just how many benefits are conferred to a legally married couple and what it means to be without them in crucial situations? Gays don't want to get married strictly for bragging rights, this is something that does adversely affect the lives of many. I don't think you're grasping just how important it is since you're not personally experiencing the horrible downsides of not being able to marry your partner.

Romney isn't going to fix the economy any more than you think Obama won't.

I'm not making any assumptions, I'm just baffled that you write off people who care about the economy and what future generations have to deal with as frivolous. Never did I say "I believe Romney will fix the economy yet I don't care about gay marriage" I'm just addressing how short-sided you are with regards to the economy, god forbid we not leave the future generations with mountains of debt and no jobs.

The irony of you talking about future generations while disowning gay-rights issues is hilarious. Like I said earlier, you really dont care.
There's no point in arguing this with you. You've not only posted false information, but you also don't take yourself and your rights as a citizen very seriously.

I didn't say I don't care because, frankly, gay marriage isn't a federal matter and I don't find it relevant in this election. Even if Romney tried to pass that legislation he would have to deal with a democratic senate.

Romney and Obama are both racing for that Recovery. We're climbing out of the recession at a rapid pace, even though we've been led to believe to be coming out slowly. In a year or two, there is virtually no chance of us staying where we're at (Which isn't that bad) and moving even more to a healthy economy.
The groundwork has been laid.
However, Obama and Romney are both racing to be the "President that led us out the recession". That is, the president in power when the economy is officially deemed restored.

How the **** is it not a federal matter though? It should be. It shouldn't be up to the states to deny someone their rights. That's a no brainer. I'm also looking to my future generations. If I ever have kids, I want them to look back at my decision not to vote in a hateful war mongerer for the sake of employment and money. Teaching your kids views like that makes them turn into **** bags like Romney who value monetary gain over the rights of humans.

Wow.
Because someone is voting based on their economic needs, you assume they just don't care about anyone. Just like a liberal, conquer and destroy your enemy (thats what Obama calls Republicans) because they "don't care" about you or "your people." I find it funny you say he/she, swag, is posting false information, but I didn't detect a single lie. Our four fathers set up a systems of states, and states can have their own laws. This is so that the federal govt couldnt just run over them, something Obama doesn't care about because he is all for the Fed. People want a job and they want their country to still be prosperous and standing in four years. Under Obama that just will not happen, we will be Greece. Bankrupt and in crisis. Except if we go, the entire world goes.
I am so sick of everyone trying to make Romney out to be a man who hates every man, woman and child that walks the United States. But I am glad millions was wasted by the Obama campaign as Romney destroyed all of those claims in a mere 90 minutes. I promise you, no matter what Obama is feeding his yes we can zombies. Romney doesn't want to kill every man, woman, and child who isnt a rich white guy. And I also promise you he isn't going to raise taxes, no matter what they are feeding you. Mitt Romney will not raise taxes on ANYONE. Even if we took Obama's "plan" to take every dime from the rich, it would only run the government for less than 100 days. Please stop letting this class warfare rhetoric get to you. Obama wants you to hate rich people, because he hates rich people. He feels they are the cause to everybody's problem and that punishing them is good for America. Incorrect, they would stop hiring workers if they are taxed to death, because they will get their money somehow. Obama has no plan, his plan is to recreate the 2009 stimulus, and we all know how that turned out, and put a new name tag on it. He has offered nothing new for his second term. NOTHING NEW. Not one piece of information is new from him. It's time to kick him out. I find it funny Obama is now a champion for balancing the budget, lol this coming from the guy who has spent more than all previous presidents combined, after accusing Bush of being unpatriotic for passing on debt to our kids and our grand kids. The cost of Obamacare has tripled since we discovered it.
So now that we know taxing every dime the rich earned wouldnt run the government for a 100 days, how do we get the money to pay for his spending? Bingo, tax the middle class.
Anywho, Swag, girl, idk if you are gay or what, but good for you for standing up for economic freedom.

Economic growth has been slower than last year, which was slower than the year before that.

Grasp at straws. we were at highs of 10% unemployment at 2009, 9,5 in 2010, 8.5 in 2011, and so far at 7.8 in 2012 with the seasonal dip looming ahead. Consumer confidence is at 20 year highs and our biggest season, which accounts for over 33% of our gross, is ahead.
But it doesn't matter. Romney has essentially lost all hopes of the EV he had.

Considering this is one out of hundreds of polls, I'm not worried.

Well, the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal benefits to married same sex couples even if they live or work in a same sex state and that allows states to ignore the same-sex marriages other states have allowed (even if they are not allowed to ignore the straight marriages other states have allowed) is a federal matter. Obama won;t defend it - you can be damned sure Romney will (assuming the Supreme Court does not invalidate it, finally).

No plan is better than a plan to destroy the safety net and cut funding for health care coverage for tens of millions of your fellow citizens in order to finance tax cuts for the rich (while either allowing the national debt to grow or raising taxes on poorer families).
The problem with the 2009 stimulus was that it was too small and too weighted towards tax cuts, not direct investments in our future.

Well, I mean technically, the Constitution gives to the states control over anything it doesn't reserve for the federal government, and the Constitution doesn't discuss marriage.
So technically, as of now, it's not explicitly a federal matter.
Of course, under the current understanding of the law (because it affects interstate commerce, because it's an equal protection problem if not every state's marriage laws are the same, etc etc), of course it should be decided federally. But opponents say the Constitution doesn't explicitly enumerate that the federal government controls marriage, so therefore it should be up to the states.

Nate Silver at the NYT says Obama will most assuredly win the election. I wouldn't put too much stock in any one poll of popular opinion, because state-by-state is what matters and Obama has a much easier path to the win than Romney does.

Lets not go that far - what Nate says is that it is more probable that Obama will win the election, not that his win is anywhere near assured. It is true that Obama does have a much less complicated path to victory than Romney, but lets not count chickens before they are hatched.
