Point is, the actual real sales figures that were widely used by the worlds media had Gaga around 5.4 million for 2011. All the media were relaying that figure. Just like Adele apparently sold 15.3 million. So basically retailers over ordered Gagas album by 1.4 million. Not hard to believe when you remember how that album was being hyped up early 2011.

Media traffic only counts 34 countries. Gaga, unlike most pop artists is huge in a lot of those countries not counted. Places like Taiwan BTW went 10X platinum. If these are shipped #s I guess it doesn't include digital sales then which is a huge chunk missing.
