Well you have to remember that it premiered right after the superbowl with heavy promotion. Everyones tvs were already tuned into the station to begin with.
Hmm, nah that decline is in comparison to its premiere in the Monday timeslot (the night after the Superbowl) last February.
I wonder how these singing competitions are all going to fare with even more options coming up.
The show is done with these kind of revelations. The best part used to be the blind auditions, then ratings dipped to hell at the Battles/Live. I wonder how bad they will get this year.
Obviously a low decrease from last year, but as well we all know, they had the Super Bowl lead in and all these football fanatics were probably too lazy to turn off the TV or passed out.
Compared to its first season premiere, it's an improvement.
The creator of the show already said all of the coaches will most likely not return, as they won't have time to do anything for their own career. They began filming the next season right after this one, as they are having two seasons a year now.
There was nothing on last night though, and yet it was still their lowest premiere yet with 12.3 million viewers. How do you think the show is going to fare with having two additional nights with more shows to compete with?
Aired Tuesday - The Voice, Go On, The New Normal, Parenthood, So You Think You Can Dance
On FOX, So You Think You Can Dance scored a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, flat with last week.
On NBC, The Voice earned a 3.9 adults 18-49 rating, down three tenths after yesterday's premiere 4.2 rating.
The second episode of Go On earned a 3.4 18-49 rating, down considerably from its 5.6 post-Olympics premiere rating and The New Normal was even with yesterday's 2.5 premiere 18-49 rating.
Parenthood premiered its fourth season to a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, down three tenths from last season's 2.2 premiere rating.
The creator of the show already said all of the coaches will most likely not return, as they won't have time to do anything for their own career. They began filming the next season right after this one, as they are having two seasons a year now.
Yup pretty much plus Mark Burnett said the chairs were theirs and that they were always welcome to come back at any time. Im cool with X leaving the show for her music and touring and so on but I hope she comes back to the voice in like 2 years, that'd be so cool.

The Voice did NOT have the Superbowl lead in on its actual Monday night timeslot last season, which is the day EVERY media outlet is comparing with this year's premiere. I wish you all would stop saying that.
