Why are people saying the album sounds like Sam's Town? I think the album sounds like Hot Fuss tbh. And why did they chose Runaways as lead single when the rest of the album ******* on it?
I wouldn't compare it to either, but it's closer to Hot Fuss than Sam's Town. The 80s influence is quite prominent. And I totally agree with you about Runaways. It boggles my mind how they passed up all these epic tracks in favor of something more suited as an album-only track.

It's closer to HF that's Y its a GREEEEAT album and not Sam's Town.
I guess this album is a bit of a mix between Sam's Town and Flamingo. More like Flamingo then Sam's Town though. It's less instant than Sam's Town, because the whole album is pretty much a grower. Really love it though.
Ranking their albums, imo it's:
Sam's Town > Hot Fuss > Battle Born > Day & Age (> Sawdust).
I don't think it sounds like Hot Fuss, but I do see some similarities with Sam's Town. Both albums have a bit of a Americana-feel, and are both very consistent music-wise. Hot Fuss and Day & Age were very diverse.

Yea, sonically it's nothing like ST, but it gives off the same Americana vibe with its themes and tone.
The album does sound a little bit like Hot Fuss lol
Not at all!
I'm still testing the album out. It was both a blessing and a curse to put "Flesh & Bone" first because it's so amazing but the subsequent tracks just don't live up!
