The song: I don’t want to criticize but Hands Up is a lazy stuff. “Put your hands up, put your drink up, don’t stop the music blah blah blah”, how many times that phrase is used already Apart from that, the song is still a nice summer bop and party anthem

The song: The biggest hit of 2011 . Roly Poly is a nice dance song, with great influences from the disco in the mid-70s. But the best thing about this song is its iconic choreography + Hwayoung’s flawless rap part

The votes: Roly-Poly started very loW, almost fall off in the bottom 10. But all the tens later helped it flying up

The song: Hot Summer is actually a single by German girlgroup Monrose in 2007. F(x) later bought it and released as their lead single from the repackage album. Hot Summer is catchy, poppy but get boring very quickly.

The song: SISTAR decided to get rid of the 2 useless ones and formed their first sub-unit, but with only 2 members, Ma Boy eventually becomes SISTAR’s biggest hit and gave them a nice boost in the girlgroup ranking. Different from their previous stuff, Ma Boy is a lovely r&b pop song, which showcases Hyorin’s amazing vocal and Bora’s fresh beauty and charism.

The votes: All of you said Ma Boy is SISTAR’s best stuff, but I’m feel betrayed since the votes are not nice at all . The song used to be buried in top 60 for a long time before having a recovery

#49. Tonight - BigBang

The song: Tonight is BigBang’s first Korean comeback after 2 years in hiatus. With this song, Big Bang finally stripped off their hiphop style and head for a more Americanized style, with electronic,dance songs. Tbh, the production of the song is not that strong and special to set it apart from other dance stuff in the industry

The votes: Tonight off with a good start, with 10 votes in, it eventually almost made it to the top 10, but everything went down from then. And number 49 is such an unexpected result

The song: BigBang promoted Lovesong alongside with Tonight in their 2011 comeback. Unlike Tonight, Lovesong does give them a new sound of music. It’s a gentle mix of R&B, hiphop and dance. The production is done nicely, no element is being pushed too far, they harmonize well with each other and they just let it flow like that

The votes:This is the shock that I mentioned. It had the same run as Tonight, but what’s different is Lovesong is always ahead of Tonight
