It's okay. I was trying to be sassy about it, but Hoku is so irrelevant that there aren't even any GIFs of the amazing iMac scenes from the "Another Dumb Blonde" video floating around on the Internet...
Cassie is a rare breed of one hit wonder who, by way of Diddy ****ing and being very pretty, retains some sort of presence within the industry. She's still at it. She's still making the rounds on 106 & Park. Nobody's sure when the plug will be pulled, and for that reason it doesn't seem right that we should stick a fork in her to see if she's done. (There's still a slight possibility that "King of Hearts" will smash, right?!) But we should probably stick a fork in her to see if she's done. Cassie's only US hit (to date), 2006's icy-cold, summer jam "Me & U"was a huge success - climbing all the way to the #3 spot on the Hot 100. Amidst tough competition, she barely makes a dent in our countdown of favorite one hit wonders.
That was my jam in the summer of 2006. And it was a #1 airplay hit for SEVEN WEEKS! All of which confuses me now, because it's actually sort of boring?
It lacks the shimmer of most of the songs here, but it has certain sleekness that's very cool.
Yeah, it had a "groove" to it, but I dunno, I wasn't completely sold on it. I maybe could have given it a couple points higher but meh it doesn't really matter that much.
