Oh Donna. Poor Donna.

This song wasn't even meant to be. Donna had released the 1980 album The Wanderer; it went gold, but wasn't as successful as new label Geffen had hoped. She began work on I'm a Rainbow, but that was scrapped on Geffen's request and she was sent to work with Quincy Jones, who was at the top of the pop world at the time. Pregnant and unhappy, Donna and Quincy huddled together - and this was the result. Bop-worthy; really, really good, but kind of unsettling. A fitting position for it.
