I'm not going to deny that Rihanna's style got edgier with the GGGB era cause it evidently did and I'm not blind HOWEVER prior to Gaga she was edgy but still tame I think her fashion right now is probably more original as she's not doing what's 'hot' right this minute but doing something different (the hair, the denim etc) but since Rated R till Talk That Talk Gaga's influence on Rihanna has been quite clear.

Im sorry but i think you are giving Gaga WAAAYY too much credit here, i need receipts as to where Rihanna has ever said Gaga has influenced her style Just because someones fashion sense gets edgier and Lady Gaga happens to be on the scene does not make her the cause, i swear sometimes Monsters talk about Gaga likes she god .

I can't at people deciding not to reply by quoting me but rather just referring to me as "they" with the excuse 'they're new to the forum and their comebacks are " bitch you done burnt your tongue on that tea that's been served? Gaga has not influenced Rihanna';s style. Rihanna's Rated R fashion is something that Gaga can never pull off. Being sexy and Edgy at the same time. If you can't do both and you call yourself a style Icon you have FAILED.

I don't really see Gaga's influence in these outfits at all. And I think her going all dark and edgier in 2008/Rated R had more to do with the whole Chris Brown thing vs. what Gaga was wearing. EIn 2008, Gaga wasn't that "avant garde" either. Gaga was wearing the leotards and the hairbows and what not.
In 2009, I guess they stepped their game up but even still, it's not the same. When Lady Gaga does edgy~ fashion, it's always OTT. When Rihanna does edgy~ fashion, it's always more cleaned up.

By no means am I saying Gaga COMPLETELY manipulated every single thing Rihanna wore, I thought Gaga had an impact on people style already during the first half of 2009 (and I wasn't even a stan). I didn't say Rihanna cited Gaga as one of her style influences . Rihanna's gotten edgier since the GGGB era but like I said in my eyes she still kept tame but after Gaga not only Rihanna but almost ALL the girls had to up their games (would you not agree here?) so that they're not left behind.

Rihanna is a force to reckon with in terms of fashion and that was well before Gaga hit the scene.
