Because people are arguing quality, which isn't even the main point of the thread. Regardless if people think Adele or GaGa put out quality material, their sales (especially Adele's) helped the growth in music sales. But people are just concerned with the "quality" part of the title.

I put quality in the title on purpose though, because I knew this would happen
BTW was a disappointing album, yes, but not really a bad one. And with the setup that it got, it was destined to be just that.
All things considered, she performed just fine.

I just wish people could detach themselves from stanning and look at something objectively once in a while. Give credit where it's due. You may not like Gaga and/or her music, but just take a step back and look at what she's done. It's not like she's compared to everybody (including Madonna) because she sucks; that wouldn't make much sense.

I don't think Adele's music has such HIGH quality.It's pretty simple,conventional and repititive.The emotion in her voice,and sometimes the lyrics get you though.But yeah,21 has sold almost 20 million,so...just hands down.Gaga,really?BTW has sold just around 6 million.Which is obviously good,but nothing like 'WOWWW OMFG'.
