Standing 40 or so meters away at the end of the street I was walking was an erected coffin, 8 or so feet high, wide enough for two and dark like the day was slowly becoming.
It would be an understatement if I told you I crapped my pants.
I ran the rest of the way home, never looking back with a few tears escaping from my clenched eyes. I had heard the 'thump' a few more times, but I tried to focus on getting to a safe place rather than this supernatural stalker.
I finally got home and ran into the first room I could see, my bathroom, and closed the door, falling to the floor, trying to contain my err escalating panic attack.
A few minutes passed, and thinking I was safe, I got up and opened the bathroom door. Just as I did, my front door broke open, the large sleeping chamber for the dead flying towards me. I clumsily stumbled back into the bathroom, screaming for my dear life, throwing anything within my reach at it.
My tooth brush weakly bounced off its hard exterior, while my rinsing glass only slightly chipped it. As it slowly advanced, I scrambled for anything that might stop it, although I knew how hopeless it would be.
Finally I threw the last thing on the counter of my bathroom at it, a bottle of cough medicine, and the coffin stopped.
True, and very scary story.

Scariest thing that happened to me was when I was reading some scary stories online like these in bed, and these stories were next level sit compared to all of ya'll's about demons, exorcisms, ghosts, aliens, strange black figures, etc.. so that night I couldn't fall asleep much like tonight. I was basically awake the whole night, until like 4 or something then suddenly the bed started shaking. I was like dear g-d, please let that be my imagination and not the devil trying to posses my body. After like 5 seconds, the shaking stopped. I was like thank g-d! I'm seriously crying right now thinking about it. I stayed awake the rest up the night until I had a sigh of relief when I saw the sun light and that whole ordeal was over with. A couple hours later, I was watching the news and the news anchor said that there was an earthquake near my area around 4 am last night. I felt a huge sigh or relief when I realized that an earthquake was causing the shaking of my bed and not the devil trying to posses me. What a strange and creepy coincidence.

I think my first scariest experience was when I was much younger. I was living in an apartment building on the first floor. I remember sitting on the living room floor watching TV with my parents in the same room, then suddenly something caught the corner of my eye. I turned to see what it was. I saw a black shadow walk from my parent's bedroom into my bedroom in the hallway. Both rooms were facing directly each other The shadow was a clear as ever especially since the light in the hallway and almost everywhere else was ****ing ON! I mean how the **** do you see a shadow as dark as night walk right through the hallway into another room like that. I ran shaking and crying to my mom and told her what happened. She calmed me down and told me that im just seeing things, but in my gut I knew what it was.

Okay so some of you may know I live in boring/ratchet Cleveland, Ohio where nothing serious really ever happens. Sure people get shot here and there, but I'm really not in the dangerous part of the city. Anyway I was about 40 minutes away from where I live, staying with my girlfriend in a township called Newbury. She had just gotten a small house that she was renting the first floor of, which was surrounded by about 5 acres of woodland that was behind a Golf Course.
It was about 5:00 PM when I got there, I was going to be staying the weekend since my dad was on a business trip and she was still unpacking. We had been unpacking for about 2 hours and it had already gotten dark out. I asked if she wanted me to order some Pizza, but she said no, that she already had some Leftover Chinese in the fridge from the following night.
We continued to unpack for about another hour, when all of a sudden I heard something in the back Dining room. She told me it was her cat Milo, and that he probably knocked something over, and asked if I could check on him. I went in there, but saw nothing but the back sliding glass door open about a foot. I assumed she had left it unlocked and that the cat had opened it himself, he often opened doors/cabinets when he wanted food.
I told her and she said No, that she had definitely locked the door. She remembered doing it. Immediately she freaked out about the damn cat, and wen't outside in the dark to call for him. I knew he'd be back when he got hungry enough, the thing was about 15 ibs of fat and only ever thought about his next meal. She called for Milo for about 20 minutes before I told her to come inside and get something to eat, trying to assure her he'd be fine.
I tried to get her to stop worrying after dinner, but she wasn't having it.
Then she went into a box and picked up a flashlight, saying she was going to go look for him by herself. I sighed and told her no, grabbed the light from her and said I'll go look for the damn thing. Knowing that this was like the beginning of a ****ing slasher movie, I told her to lock the door and the front one behind me, and to wait until I get back.
Freezing my balls off, I went past the backyard, calling his name a few more times, and walked deeper into the trees that faced the Golf Course. It must have been 10 minutes of screaming the damn cats name and shining the light everywhere, before I decided to go look at the neighbors to see if he had gone over there. I noticed they had a cat or two as well, so maybe he went to go get laid.
I walked over towards the house but stopped when I heard a rustle in the bushes on my left. I shined the light immediately, asking who was there. Thinking it was the damn cat, I walked closer, but stopped as something flew out from the darkness and hit me right in the face. I swore and held my nose, and started cursing at whoever the **** did that, thinking they threw a baseball or a rock at me.
As the pain subsided I shined the flashlight back on the bush, but saw nothing.
Then I shined it down below my feet where I expected to see the baseball. But I saw a ****ing cats Paw on the ground. Milo's paw. My stomach dropped when I saw it, and I realized there was blood on my face from what hit me. I was about to beat the **** out of whoever did this to that poor cat, but then I thought what if whoever it was had a gun or a knife? I'd just better call the police.
I turned around and ran back to the house as fast as I could, and took my cellphone out, dialing 911. I told the operator what had happened and she said that Two cars were on there way, and to stay inside and lock the doors. I ran to the house and saw her waiting behind the glass door. She unlocked it and she could tell that something was wrong, and asked if I found Milo. I said yes, and she asked where was he? But before I could answer a loud thud hit the window directly behind me.
I didn't see it but I heard Staci scream as Milo's torso was flung at the glass door. I locked the door and told her to get away from the window, and told her to go upstairs. She refused and grabbed the light from me and shone it outside. There stood the ugliest ****ing person I have ever seen. He must have been 300 ibs, and looked like a fat version of the guy from The Hills Have Eyes. The guy was ****ing smiling at us as he threw another one of Milo's paws at the window.
Staci continued to scream, but then we both turned as we heard sirens outside. The dude turned to run away, so I went out the front door and told the cops what happened and that he was just right behind the house. It took them about 5 minutes before they got the sick ****, I think they tazer'd him.
We never really got the whole story about why he did it, but the Police Officer told us that he was the neighbors son, that had a history of mental illness. They also later found graves of more pets that had gone missing in the neighbors back yard. He got 2 years for animal Cruelty, with the possibillity of probation. And this was about 6-7 months ago.
I still have nightmares about that night, even though we are now currently done seeing each other. I just wished I could helped that poor creature, and I hope he didn't suffer, and that he died quickly.
This is why we need the Death Penalty for Animal Cruelty.

I've had that sleep paralysis a lot when I was a kid. but it was not scary or something like that.
However! I had this same thing not so long ago, I had this dream that I was in this airport waiting for something. I saw a man walking with two dogs near him and then one of the dogs was coming to me but he was cute so it wasn't scary at all but he jumped on me and wrapped his whole body around me and it became a little bit scary. At first I thought he wanted to play but then he wouldn't let go and it really felt like someone was holding me, I couldn't move at all and I heard a strong breathing in my ears from a dog. I was so scared to death but I still had to courage to turn on the lights so quickly and I literally stared at my door for minutes because it really felt like someone was in my room.

I love this story.
Panthera
Nothing scary has ever happened to me. I'm honestly not sure if I have experienced that sleep paralysis most of you are talking about but I think I might have. Sometimes I just have this feeling that I want to wake up but for some reason I won't be able to open my eyes. I try and try and try but I'm just not able to. It happens quite often and I hate it
Also, like some of you, I hate sleeping on my back. I remember when I was little I used to have so many nightmares, and the woman who took care of me told me that it was because I slept facing up since that day I've been sleeping on my side
This one is more funny than scary but I'll say it anyways. One day, I was at a friend's place with another friend (so it was three of us), and we were watching insidious with the lights off and all. So if you've seen the movie, you'll know about the shadow that was like walking in the hallway of the house while the woman was trying to sleep and then suddenly it jumped out of the closet or something like that, I don't remember very well. Something like that happened to us. We were watching the movie and, for some reason, my friend decided to look behind. He said, with a shaky voice and a terrified look on his face, "I think there's someone staring at us". My other friend and I looked and we saw nothing at first, but after looking a little bit more, we did indeed see a shadow. We turned the lights on and it was my friend's uncle and he just came in saying "what's up kids" We were like I wondered how long he had been there staring at us. The creepy thing is that he was not just there standing; he was like hiding as if he didn't want us to notice he was there

Oh I remember one story.
Like 4 years ago I was taking a nap on my room, it was about 7 pm or so. The thing is I felt like going to the bathroom so I woke up really quick, walked into the bathroom, which is near my parent's room and locked the door (I always do that, lol). I remember having finished and then going to wash my hands when suddenly I was lying on the floor all confused and my dad knocking on the door really loud!
Turns out I passed out for some reason and my father rushed to the bathroom as soon as he heard a thud, but since I had locked the door all he wstarted to knock and ask if I was ok. I recall sobbing or something while lying on the floor before fully regaining consciousness, the I got up and told my dad I had just fell, as I openned the door my dad told me it had passed like 20 seconds or something since he heard me fall and I was all confused. For me it was just like a blink.
It was definitely some scary **** and it was the only time something like that has happened to me.

I remember another one. It happened when I was about 14 and my sister like 10 or 11. We thought it'd be cool to sleep in the living room, so we piled up sheets and covers to sleep there. We watched TV for a while and we both fell asleep. In the middle of the night, I woke up, and the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a horrible face in the TV, like those that send you in those stupid ass e-mails that scream and scare the **** out of you. And I could've swore I had turned the TV off before I went to sleep
Another day I was asleep and in the middle of the night I woke up, and everything was blurry, and I looked at this picture of me as a baby I have hanging on my bedroom's wall and I saw the shadow of a man's face, but I don't really remember anything else. I probably fell asleep again in a second.

Your body was still in deep sleep mode. When you sleep your brain sort of paralyzes you so you don't get up and do something stupid lol So sometimes part of you wakes up before the rest so thats where the whole can't move feeling comes from, as for the shadows on the wall, that is usually attributed to you still being in sleep mode and your brain dreaming while you're awake.
