Album: The Carter IV Writers: Dwayne Carter, Jr., Noel Fisher, LaMar Seymour, LaNelle Seymour, Jermaine Preyan, Marcus Boyd Producer(s): Noel "Detail" Fisher, Drum Up
Standout Lyrics
"You never credit yourself so when you got older
It's seems like you came back ten times over
Now you're sitting here in this damn corner
Looking through all your thoughts and looking over your shoulder"
Weezy disappointed me with this album. I only care for a handful of songs and "How To Love" is definitely one of them. Weezy remains one of the best lyricists, despite putting out questionable songs and such. I do admire his interest in experimenting with different sounds.

LMFAO - "Sexy And I Know It"
Album: Sorry for Party Rocking Writers: Stefan Kendal Gordy, Jamahl Listenbee, Erin Beck, G.M. Robertson, Kenneth Oliver Producer(s): Party Rock
Standout Lyrics
"When I walk in the spot, this is what I see
Everybody stops and they're staring at me
I got passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it"
LMFAO....this group here are something else. I'm ashamed to say I enjoy some of their music. What can I say? They make great dance music, where you are surely bound to hear it either at parties or clubs. I remember the first time I ever heard of them, years ago on MTV Real World Cancun, never did I think they would get as big as they had now.

Anthony Grammer "Keep Your Head Up"
Album: Anthony Grammer Writers: Grammer Producer(s): Grammer
Standout Lyrics
"The glow that the sun gives
Right around sunset
Helps me realize
This is just a journey
Drop your worries
You are gonna turn out fine.
Oh, you'll turn out fine.
Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine"
What a breath of fresh air this track is to radio. It didn't blow up by any means, but it received modest spins. "Keep Your Head Up" is one of those good songs that you can jam to and it never fails to put you in good spirits when down.
Yay, you're back to finish your list!
Oh man, totally agree on LMFAO; I still can't believe it. I hate how catchy and ridiculous "I'm Sexy and I Know It" is
Album: Here I Am Writers: James Scheffer, Rico Love, Daniel Morris, Dwayne Carter Producer(s): Jim Jonsin, Rico Love
Standout Lyrics
"Oh lover, don't you dare slow down
Go longer, you can last more rounds
Push harder, you're almost there now
So go lover, make mama proud
And when we're done, I don't wanna feel my legs
And when we're done, I just wanna feel your hands all over me baby
You can't stop there, music still playin in the background
And you're almost there
(You can do it, I believe in you baby)
So close from here"
Well alright then Miss Kelly! She really did her thing with this track and earned herself her 1st solo platinum single in the US. The song was a smash on Urban/Rhythmic stations for a good reason, the song is sexy and vivacious. It's freaky, but yet a hint of class is present. Couldn't be anymore proud of how well Kelly has done with this single. Keep it up Kelz!!!

Pitbull - "Give Me Everything" Feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer
Album: Planet Pit Writers: Armando C. Perez, Nick van de Wall, Shaffer Smith Producer(s): Afrojack
Standout Lyrics
"Take advantage of tonight
'Cause tomorrow I'm off to do battle, perform for princes
But tonight, I can make you my queen
And make love to you endless
It's insane to wait and they ain't growin' money
Keep flowin', hustlers move beside us
So I'm tip-toeing to keep blowing
I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan"
Pitbull smashed the charts with "Give Me Everything." Ne-Yo singing the hook only solidified this smash for me. I never paid much attention to Pitbull much till his collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and this song. He's a pretty decent rapper and when he starts going in spanish....WOOOO CHILD!

Katy Perry - "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"
Album: Teenage Dream Writers: Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, Bonnie McKee Producer(s): Dr. Luke, Max Martin
Standout Lyrics
"The glow that the sun gives
Right around sunset
Helps me realize
This is just a journey
Drop your worries
You are gonna turn out fine.
Oh, you'll turn out fine.
Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine"
Believe it or not, I'm a casual fan of Katy Perry's. She makes fun/light music, which I tend to like because it keeps me in good spirits. For me, LFN just makes me relive my childhood years in the 90's, which for me is always a bitter sweet thing. Staying up with my girlfriends on Friday nights, watching TGIF on ABC with Boy Meets World, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, etc. I never realized how much I miss being a child till I listen to this song, as strange as that sounds.
" It's freaky, but yet a hint of class is present." Yes! That's what I thought too... I don't know how she did it!
You didn't pay attention to him when he said "Hey Baby, Baby " in a creepy voice?!
TGIF on ABC was seriously the best way to spend Friday's... and you're right, LFN does a good job of reminding us of those good times
Album: Wasting Light Writers: Dave Grohl Producer(s): Butch Vig
Standout Lyrics
"Do you remember the days
We built these paper mountains
And sat and watched them burn
I think I found my place
Can't you feel it growing stronger
Little conquerors"
One of my favorite bands ever along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I lost touch with the Foo Fighters for awhile, but they have started to peak my interest again. Walk is definitely a gem, not their best ever, but top notch nonetheless. I kid you not, when listening to this song, I am singing it at the top of my lungs. My roomie hates it and my neighbors do as well, but they will just have to deal with it.

The Black Keys - "Dearest"
Album: Rave On Buddy Holly Writers: Bob Gibson, Ellas McDaniel, Prentice Herman Polk, Jr. Producer(s): --
Standout Lyrics
"You scold and you were so bold
yes together - umm ya
our love will grow old - umm ya
our love will grow old"
The song is short and has minimal lyrics, but I love it regardless of the fact. The melody is so chill and reminds me of something I would be listening to in a tropical paradise somewhere.

Britney Spears "Till The World Ends"
Album: Femme Fatale Writers: Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, Alexander Kronlund, Kesha Sebert Producer(s): Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Billboard
Standout Lyrics
"This kitten got your tongue tied in knots, I see
Spit it out 'cause I'm dying for company
I notice that you got it, you notice that I want it
You know that I can take it to the next level baby
If you want this good ****
Sicker than the remix
Baby let me blow your mind tonight"
SHOCKER, I KNOW! For many, Till The World Ends is probably the best Britney track of the year, but I don't agree. TTWE is such a fun, sassy, pop anthem. It makes you want to get up and dance....or hop in place to the beat.
