Albums #03 - #02
This album is one of Rihanna’s best albums and it is clearly a departure from her previous album Rated R. It gave Rihanna a new clear identity on dominating the charts. Here’s hoping that in 2012 her latest album, Talk That Talk will be just as good.
Yes I know that this album was released way back in 2010, but I actually forgot to mention this album in my Best of 2010 thread. Anyway this album by Kylie, although good, it’s still not as great as some of her past albums. It still does provides upbeat pop tunes as well as gaining good reviews from critics.
Next post: I’ll reveal the #1 album and I’ll count down the top 10 annoying songs of 2011.

The #1 album of 2011
This past year has easily been Adele’s year with two back-to-back US #1 hits and massive sales of this album. It has hit #1 in almost every country. I really hope that Adele will have more success in 2012.
Warning: Don’t feel too offended if any of these songs happen to be your favourites. It's just a personal opinion
10. Martin Solveig featuring Dragonette – Hello
I really like dance songs, but this tune was really lame and I couldn’t stand it any time I hear it on the radio.
9. Nicki Minaj – Super Bass
I am too aware of the fact that most people like Nicki Minaj, but to be honest, I don't like her very much and I couldn’t see the point. She looks awful and any time she raps she does it too fast. This song is one of the examples of why I really loathe this artist.
8. Black Eyed Peas – The Time (Dirty Bit)
Although this song was released in late 2010, it was already on the verge of being annoying with most (if not all) lyrics being lame and predictable in a sense that you’ve heard such lyrics from other tunes. It also uses the sample of the classic Dirty Dancing song very poorly.
7. DJ Fresh featuring Sian Evans – Louder
When this song was released this past summer, I really hated it mostly because the chorus was patronizingly tiring (e.g. It’s gonna get,it’s gonna get, it’s gonna get louder!)
6. Beyonce – Countdown
I’ve got nothing against Beyonce whatsoever. She is one of the best pop artists in the world with countless awards and massive album sales. However, on a personal note, none of the songs taken from her latest album, 4, are as good as her past hits and this song is an example. I just didn’t like it at all much, because the rhythm was off-putting and the countdown chrous sounded quite boring.
5. Pixie Lott – All About Tonight
I never really liked Pixie Lott because she’s just really boring. At first I liked her when she made her debut with Mama Do, but eventually I begin to loathe her because her other songs are bland, boring and overplayed. This song, in particular, made me really cringe every time I hear it either on the radio or on TV. The music video wasn’t any better either as the choreography was boring.
4. Katy Perry – Firework
I didn’t like this song when it was released in 2010 and I still don’t like it. One of the reasons is that it’s been overplayed on radio and was used far too much in TV adverts. As much as I like Katy Perry, this song, for me at least, is completely her worst song ever (and I know you’re going to disagree with me on this)
3. Pink – F**kin' Perfect
This song didn’t really grow on me as I found it to be a very dull ballad and it’s just as bland her other song, Raise Your Glass.
2. Lady GaGa – Born This Way
Lady GaGa is known all too well to be pushing a lot of music boundaries. However, I feel she might have overdone it big time with this song. I find the song to be too overbearing and hateful and the video is quite off-putting just like the album cover of the same title.
1. LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem
Why this song became the anthem of 2011, I’ll never know. All I know is that the song is overrated, overplayed and too whacky. Also, the music video was nothing short of ridiculous, with the dancing to be completely over the top.
Next post: I’ll count down the ten songs that are likely to hit big in 2012 and I’ll continue my Top 50 with songs from #20 - #18.
21 is indeed the album of the year whether we like it or not. Great choice.
I read your comments about the annoying songs, I agree with Born This Way, PRA and The Time.
You're very unbiased with some of these artists, you might dislike a song even if it's sung by an artist that you like and I think that's says a lot of your taste in a good sense.
I like almost every song on your annoying list.... Firework, ****in' Perfect, Countdown, Born This Way, The Time, All About Tonight, Super Bass, Party Rock Anthem.
