Are we talking about Rihanna? If so, when you have six albums, that is considered moderately successful. For someone as big as Rihanna, like I said, her success is paradoxical.
I agree that for most people, becoming an icon or becoming iconic is a process, but for others, like Gaga, it's quite easy when you burst onto the scene and change the way people view things.
