It's not like she had anything thing to do with the tactics, itunes just wanted to be apart of this historic moment and were most likely willing to take a loss for it, as they knew it was going to sell without it anyway
It's like Billboard is putting an asterisk beside her "record" though. Them mentioning the tactics make it seem like it's frowned down upon and that she was indeed desperate. I kind of chuckled a little when I read that part. It'll be interesting to see how this feat is accepted.
