I haven't seen the Help but just like Bridesmaids I haven't heard anything negative about it.

I finally saw The Help and Crazy, Stupid, Love this past weekend, and I absolutely LOVED them! I have no doubt that they will both end up in my personal end-of-year top ten list. I can see now why everybody was raving about Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer's performances in The Help, and I just hope that they and the entire film are still remembered come Oscar season. Though it's probably the best romantic comedy I've seen in ages, I don't hold out such hope for Crazy, Stupid, Love; the top-notch script may have risen far and above the typical cliches and constraints of the genre, but it's far too fluffy for the Academy. Still, a couple of nods in the comedy categories at the Golden Globes would be much deserved and appreciated.

Don't forget Take Shelter! That looks like it could be an interesting film, and another buzzy, breakthrough role for her.

Anyway, I absolutely adored her in The Help and I wish her career all the best. She's fantastic.

Idk much about Take Shelter. I need to look it up. I loved her in The Help too - she's so vivacious and likable. What's more impressive is how completely different her role in The Debt is.

I keep seeing the trailer and it's definitely got me hooked. I don't know how much commercial success it will have, but it could do big things on the art house circuit this fall.

The Help was sold out all weekend at work. The only movie to do so. Glad to see these non-3D movies slaying like this.

Even as a fan of the book, I had no idea. The previews looked awful. I thought it would do like 40M-50M.

I guess the previews do it no justice. I've heard great things about the movie. I guess this is a huge contender for the Academy Awards.

You predicted it would make $200 million weeks ago before the hype really kicked in. It's well on its way now, but its numbers could be down considerably this weekend. It's September.
