UMMMM, since when do you have to be from a "southern state" to sing or perform country music?
This is a complete stereotypical judgment. While country music may be more popular in certain regions, it doesn't mean that it should only be restricted to those areas. I don't even like country, but I'm not oblivious to this FACT that some people in here are deluded by.
Her MOTHER is from WEST VIRGINIA anyway [as well as her grandparents, aunt, uncle, and other extended family] so she grew up coming here QUITE often. This is the second FACT that makes your so called "point" an invalid one.
The idea that country should only come from one place is completely ludicrous & ignorant. If that's the case then you should argue that rappers should only come from urban areas, which in turn would be a RACIST comment.
Anyway, the new version is cute and has a great southern rock influence, but isn't better than the original by any means.
It's clear that GaGa has a lot of people butt-hurt over one damn song, but I guess she did warn us by saying it's gonna piss a lot of people off.
I can't imagine what will be said when "Judas" is released.
I expected something where she'd sing with an acoustic guitar or something not just take the original A capella and put some ****** country instrumental behind it.

Oh, my. What ever are you trying to imply here, Rainbows?

...Vin
I love how of all the things that I said, that's the part you quoted.
What I'm trying to say is that it would be the same. You're discriminating against other areas as far as music goes with no valid or justifiable reason, other than the fact that you just hate the song.
Hating the song is fine, but you're statements about country music only pertaining to certain regions is completely delirious and berserk.
Just because typical white people in southern areas sing country music doesn't mean that it only applies to those people, and implying the idea that a girl from New York can't sing country music.

Oh, my. That's a pretty stereotypical statement you just recited there.
