Because your parents trained you to respect others equally. Half of these ATRL folks have never seen a black person growing up, and assumed the world revolved around whites. It's ignorance because of where they come from. It is up to the parent to teach the child, but if the parent is a racist themselves then we're all screwed.
I grew up in a multi racial family, and that is one of the reasons why blacks are some of the most diverse loving individuals.
