I'm not speaking about white people individually when I say that, but as a demographic. It's very hard for white people (anyone, really, but especially white people) to be born and bred in this racist society and not internalize at least some of it.

It's also important to note that being racist doesn't necessarily mean that you throw around slurs and refuse to associate with people of color, it can be a lot more subtle and subconscious than that.

The amount of times I've spoken to Asian / Indian guys on Grindr who say really saddening things like "wow, didn't think you'd respond to an Asian / Indian guy" just make me feel disgusted for humanity.

That's literally me and what I've become living in a predominantly white area.

Aside from never contacting white guys anymore (having pretty much internalized they won't want you, cause you're not what's advertised in the gay media as "desirable"), I don't hang out with them in large groups either. Or else I'm subjected to the "That guy is hot!" talk that's never directed towards guys of colors. And its easy to internalize that as well.

Everything feels like an emotional time bomb being around just white gays. So I prefer to diversify and have a mix in my friend groups so it's more racism proof. And if anyone says anything particularly racial, I don't feel like the black sheep calling it out.
