Circus didn't go #1 because the Hot 100 is a flawed chart, that's all. The song did everything it had to do.

Britney stans are too quick. that's why Britney usually peaks during the first or second week.

The Hot 100 formula relies too much on timing, which is why Circus didn't perform amazingly. Nothing lined up, by the time it had good airplay it was not selling enough. Of course, now its sales are great.

which brings me back to my point, Britney stans RUSH to buy her singles. then she doesn't sell enough during the weeks she has the opportunity to be #1 because her stans bought it in the first week. promotion could have also got it to #01 in the later weeks but that didn't happen.

That's how all artists are when they release a new song to iTunes. Not just Britney. Of course promo wasn't needed for the song because it was a hit anyway. Longevity > Peak, and "Circus" had good longevity.

wrong. that's not how all artists are. Gaga's Bad Romance reached a peak later on after it was released. California Gurls released a peak after it was released. Only Girl reached a peak after it was released. Britney is the only one that deals with peaking on the first week becuase of her fanbase.

Only Girl reached a peak after it was discounted. It was always hovering at #2 or #3 before that.

im a britney fan , but yeah Circus is a bit overrated, no WOW factor like Womanizer that can make the non-Britney fan buy the single. i mean , I THINK, there were stronger songs during the circus era, mostly bangers vs a bit generic Circus.

Taylor is on the same level as Britney. Her selling power is INSANE. all her songs drop after the few days because everybody bought it. Eminem has been around for years, his power is just as strong as Britney's and Ke$ha is the one with the most digital power out of the new girls.
