|
| | #60 | | B.o.B. - Magic
When Bobby Ray told us that everything he touches turn into gold, did he lie? Probably not, coz if he were, this track wouldn't have made it this far!I bet David Blaine who needs to attend a magic class and Criss Angel who's doesn't know what's happening combined can't trick anyone to NOT like this song! And oh, this is one the reasons why I found my way back to Rivers Cuoumo and Weezer. <3
|
| #59 | | N-Dubz - We Dance On
UK did their own taste of RnB/Hip-Hop and took a page out of Step Up but with an exquisite class y'all, and I'm not here for that! On the other hand, the song is so appealing and exhibits motivational lyrics. The intro is a reminiscent of Vitamin C's Graduation song -- lmfao so ****ign random! Works perfectly for aerobics/weightloss programs! You need THAT inspiration real hard if sheddding some fat is extremely necessary. Where's your health instincts, gorl?
|
| #58 | | K'naan - Wavin' Flag (Celebration Mix)
Why I love this so much?! The fact that it sounds celebratory, as it was designed it to be, as well as resonating a liberating experience in every listen. The song itself captures the thrill of the World Cup phenomenon, an irresistible aspect on its own. And most importantly, to the epic new version that was to be hailed as the 'Celebration Mix'. Thanks to Coca Cola! This won't be the last time you'll be seeing a World Cup-inspired song charting here.
|
| #57 | | Erykah Badu - Window Seat
What a mess. The whole song is a huge paradox. It is our human nature to fickle so quickly that even ourselves can't understand that habit. It isn't so hard to decode that the song is all about escapism, retreat or diversion. But on a second thought, she lingers for someone to want her back. I guess you really don't know what you've got 'til its gone. And I support her EPIC video for this which was purportedly targeted against groupthink. The second-handers once again....
|
| #56 | | Mumford & Sons - White Blank Page
Sexually ambiguous but then again it could be another thing. It has religious references inserted within the song "And can you kneel before the king
And say I'm clean, I'm clean", and since I'm a homosexual I'm gonna go with the possible homosexual connotations of the song. --- First verse addresses in form of second person, presumably a man romantically INVOLVED with the narrator but is committedly tied with a woman. But the man mentioned refuses to acknowledge that kind of love and decided to love a woman, as was socially conventional. Then he questions him with "But tell me now, where was my fault, In loving you with all my heart", only to be rejected "You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections". Lastly, he turns to God for guidance as evident in the last line "Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life ". Beautiful song.<3

Top 30 Albums of 2010 Akkording to ARKL
#30 Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
#29 Heidi Montag - Superficial
#28 LIGHTS - Lights.Acoustic
#27 Weezer - Hurley
#26 Jamiroquai - Rock Dust Ligh Star
#25 Röyksopp - Senior
#24 Alex Band - We've All Been There
#23 Janelle Monae - The Archandroid
#22 M.I.A. - /\/\ /\ Y /\
#21 Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns
#20 OK Go - Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky
#19 Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown
#18 Sade - Soldier Of Love
|
|
| #20 | | OK Go - Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky
Highlights: Last Leaf, While You Were Asleep, White Knuckles
When to listen: While you are asleep (yeah, figure it out yourself on how would you do that)
The album crests then slowly troughs, sonically. Feet tromping beats are placed in the first half of the album's tracklisting, above the withdrawn relaxed songs on the lower half-bottom. I enjoyed the the second half the most, because it piques me back to Snow Patrol and this album served as a substitute for my Snow Patrol appepite for new materials.
|
| #19 | | Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown
Highlights: Radioactive, Pyro, Back Down South
When to listen: Riding a horse
Nowhere near the EPICNESS of Only By The Night, but enough to lull you and your senses into the same distinct KOL-sound, that mysterious subdued undertone that dominates calmly in each of their songs. Yet, all the tracks closely sound similar, they lack variations which was predominant on their previous album. But, I commend Back Down South for integrating some country twang in it.
|
| #18 | | Sade - Soldier Of Love
Highlights: Soldier Of Love, Bring Me Home, The Moon and The Sky
When to listen: Breastfeeding
Smmoth. Soothing. Comforting. Those three words define the overall mood of the album except of Soldier of Love, which is tad belligerent and insistent while Bring Me Home is an enigmatic tune. More than a decade of waiting for the expiration Sade's hiatus is definitely worth it. WERQ!
