Sales aren't everything. There is streaming. Also, artists get most of their money from tours. Ariana has already proven she can book Arenas which is something Meghan needs to achieve yet.

No wonder why Ariana made it to Times 100 Most Influential and Billboards Top 30 highest earning musician. Can't say the same about her peers.

Well, love this chat but I have other things to do. Love both and very proud of what Meg has achieved in less than 2 years. Very few artists get 6 Top 20 singles in 23 months of a career. Goodnight.

We had an extra week of Views and Lemonade in the way. Hadn't died down enough. They overshadowed the release.

First week sales are nothing. Meghan is outselling Ariana since the past 2-3 weeks.

Meghan has a bigger lead and a bigger second single (So far)

And it did help the album, but with Meghan you don't expect huge first sales, but with longevity, Title managed to sell 1M in the US & 2,1M worldwide.

We don't all stan for front-loaded faves, aren't we?

Ariana had the "I hate America" moment. Besides her singles this era have not been as strong.

Focus was a mess (I know it's not technically in the album but that always happens when the lead single flops, they call it a buzz single). Dangerous Woman and Into You are nice songs but they don't sound like huge hits (especially DW which was the lead). Loved her album though.

Meghan was off to a good start with NO but she ruined the momentum with Me Too. I listened to the album and it's pretty bad so I don't see any more hits for her this era.

And very few artists can book Arenas AROUND THE WORLD. Of course you will leave now, you can't deny the fact Ari is making more money than her peers with huge margin.

And Meg hasn't announced her next legs yet, but 5H is doing arenas in Europe so she probably will too.

The Yours Truly era was extremely local and only had a 9 peaking single in the US. Title had a huge, global number one single and a 2 million WW selling album. And even then, The Listening Sessions grossed $680,000 with only 11 shows (all in the US) while the That Bass tour grossed $38,500 with 36 shows out of 6 legs worldwide.

As I said before, Artists can't control radio support. So even with less airplay, Meghan's NO managed to be more successful than Ariana's DW.
