OP: Gaga is saying that she had an idea for herself, that was taken by the GP and her fans, and then misconstrued into something else that she made her own. She is saying this from the perspective of someone who is mature enough to reflect back on her past and make her own decisions. She realizes that she doesn't fully understand who the character 'Gaga' should be at this point, as she has out grown our perception of who we expect her to be. She isn't rejecting her past self in any way.

So, we can expect to see some themes of self identity or self exploration on LG5.

I agree with Archetype. The perception of Gaga got deconstructed by people as this over the top, meat-wearing, controversial pop star (fairly) that even Gaga herself, who obviously outgrew those conceptions over time, played into this role of Gaga so she started to act the way other people wanted from her and not the way she actually was.

The last couple of years seemed to be her self-exploring era where she had the time to reflect on her career and become a woman who she wanted to be and is right now. I hope we hear some of these themes on her album.

As others who actually listened to what she said, it's clear that our perception of "Lady Gaga" has sort of took a different path from Gaga herself. It seems she's out grown the persona that got her into the business as well as her meteoric rise to fame. Now she's trying to figure out who "Lady Gaga" is after all that, well her fans continue to hold on to the disco stick, goddess of love shtick.

I feel like LG5 will be far more mature than anything she's every done before, and could possible fracture our fanbase. Monsters who will accept the growth and the others who'll jump ship because it's not as popish enough or there's no glitz and glamour like before.

Um obviously... the public fell in love with ''Lady Gaga'', which was the persona Stefani herself presented them with, thus the one they actually got to know.

It kinda feels like she's getting nowhere with this, though, like what is her point? Does she want to keep doing the Gaga thing, or try to show the public another side of herself? This really doesn't seem the place to talk about stuff like this, it only confuses her audience.
