Bad and Boujee is trash besides the chorus. Black Beatles deserves more weeks at the top.

The Billboard formula is perfect as it is....to measure popularity

If the formula was the exact same, and the Top 10 was filled with Pop singles y'all loved then you wouldn't want the formula changed.
You guys want the formula changed because you don't like the songs at the top with the formula, not because you don't think it authentically showcases the most popular songs. Which is exactly why Billboard isn't changing the formula

So sick of these unlistenable meme-desperate urban pop songs topping the charts. When will the reign of terror end?

ATRL is in its own bubble when it comes to urban music lol. Bad & Boujee is a massive song, the Drop Top meme alone was trending for days on Twitter.
Rap music is like a cockroach it'll always survive no matter what the pop leaning industry does.

I need Queen Katy's lead single to lean a bit urban if this ****ing ugly trend is here to stay for a while.
At least Queen Rih is safe.

How can you call this schlock "urban rap" music? This is just as corny and poppy as a Katy or Taylor single.

I'm definitely NOT a "Pop" fan. I like Rock and Country. When the metrics are better balanced a wider variety of formats/genres are represented on the Hot 100. Since Urban is far from the most listened-to format, why must we automatically assume streaming should dominate just because Urban thrives in that metric and not as much others? Country is actually the second most listened-to format, and it excels at sales, but not so much at streaming.
So if we want to go by the number/share of listeners on radio today to determine what is really "popular," sales should be STRONGER! Urban and Rhythmic together add up to a little smaller of a share of radio listeners than Country alone. Right now BB has a huge lead at Urban and Rhythmic so it has more impressions than the Country #1. But if you look at the positions below #1 the totals are less than the audience of Country radio.
I know I'm going to get a ton of angry replies because of my comments, but so be it. I'm going to bed, so I'll deal with the hate mail in the morning.

I don't think you can say definitively that one format is the most listened-to. While fewer people consume urban music through radio compared to country, more people consume it via streaming than country. Unless you got everyone in the country to take a survey asking them what formats of music they listen to, you can't get a clear-cut answer on that.
Regardless, what formats are most listened-to is only indirectly linked to the Hot 100, which deals with the popularity of individual songs.

I wouldnt have a problem with Urban music dominating if it was coming from acclaimed acts like Bey, Rih, Solange, Chance the Rapper, J .Cole. But people like Lil Uzi and Lil Yachty and DRAM.. like.. Umm we need Order in the court.

So non-critically acclaimed acts don't deserve to be successful?

Im not saying they dont deserve to be successful its just unfair that a song like Cranes in the Sky or Juke Jam will not get the same exposure as a song like Bad and Boujee while they remain SUPERIOR.
At least we have Drake that provides a sense of balance. THese songs will burnout after a few months. They are not a great representation of what's quality urban music its just because the charts are manipulated by a bunch of white kids who think its suddenly cool.

urban music making its comeback in full force the fact that the top two songs of the week are both trap songs. in 2015, I would have never guessed that the USA would be like this

George Michael Returns to Hot 100 With 'Careless Whisper' & 'Faith
The late pop legend revisits the chart with two former No. 1s, while fellow '80s favorite "Last Christmas" rises.
Former No. 1s "Careless Whisper" (billed to Wham! featuring Michael) and "Faith" re-enter the Hot 100 at Nos. 33 and 47, respectively, while 1984's "Last Christmas" lifts 50-41 (in its first run up the chart, having not been released commercially in the U.S. upon its original release).
Whisper," which topped the Hot 100 for three weeks in February-March 1985, returns after selling 53,000 downloads

I agree these current urban songs aren't the highest quality (some much worse than others), but that doesn't stop them from being popular. The formula is fine. I'm neither a teenager anymore nor do I live in America but I'm on twitter enough and follow enough American media to understand that B&B is getting pretty huge right now.

Work is not even close to the same lane as 'Bad and Boujee', 'Brocolli' etc
Firstly, the genre is completely different, it went top 10 on pop, and has an actual melody. And while it was streaming driven, it still performed extremely well on all metrics.
