20. Snakehips - All My Friends
19. Florence + The Machine - Songs From Final Fantasy
16. NCT #127 - 1st mini album
12. Snoh Aalegrah - Don't Explain
11. Cruel Youth - +30mg
5. Dean - 130 Mood : TRBL
4. Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered
2. Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion Side B
1. Abra - Princess
I loved Amnesia Scanner SOOOOOOO much. I hope they release an album next year. Also yas @ queen Carly, Abra and Kendrick. Also, Jadu Heart sounds really interesting!
Okay so i'm wondering why some of these tracks were "rejected" from the standard when I could come up with replacements that could've improved upon Side A.
whew yes, carly her side b's being better than a lot of other's side a's. sometimes i wish the likes of higher and first time were on side a, but then maybe it would be too much.
excellent top four though, abra definitely has to be the next big thing.
A nice electropop power anthem. I like the intro. Overall it's an uplift.
179. Phantogram - You Don't Get Me High Anymore
Pre-chorus is great. The production is kinda the best thing about this. Whenever I feel like nothing is good enough, I could imagine this playing I think.
178. POLIÇA - Lately
Lately sounds peaceful and I like her voice. All I got to say about it.
177. Dua Lipa - Hotter Than Hell
Confession: I used to hate this song. I thought she sounded like a croaked frog in the chorus. Later on I kind of got used to it and it caught on to me. It's a bit unique too which sets herself apart from the other "new" pop girls.
176. Bastille - Good Grief
I'm no Bastille fan but gotta admit that this is a guilty pleasure and is quite catchy.
175. DIIV - Is The Is Are
Beach Fossils vibes. Sounds like something I would play outside while walking along the shore. A calm tune.
174. Mura Masa ft A$AP Rocky - Love$ick
Mura Masa + A$ap = Win. The song's drop isn't too big nor uneventful.
173. Majid Jordan - Shake Shake Shake
A banger, a bop etc. This track sets itself a part from the rest of the album. It's carefree, wants you to move.
172. The Radio Dept - Swedish Guns
The majority of this track is "hey look, swedish guns" but there's something about it that's easy to get lost in. The opening sound is whew.
171. M83 - Solitude
I did not expect much from M83's junk and it still turned out to be... well junk. But if there was a standout, it would be Solitude for me as it sounds like one of the few non half-assed tracks they recently made.
170. Temples - Certainty
They kinda ripped off Tame Impala's Currents sound here, as it sounds like a B-side/demo of something that would be on that album. However that is fine cuz the synths r great. The outro is not too shabby either.
169. liv - Dream Awake
An improvement upon the first track they released, Lykke Li especially sounds great here. A slow song done right.
168. Rainbow Chan - Nest
The Losing You comparisons makes sense in context to nest sound wise. I use.
167. Nite Jewel - Boo Hoo
Boo Hoo is dreamy & ethereal, especially around the chorus.
166. Lloyd - Tru
Lloyd didn't get enough shine this year huh? I guess too much competition in the R&B field, so it was easy for him to get left out. However, this was a well done "comeback" track. It stays true to his old sound.
180. Broods - Free
179. Phantogram - You Don't Get Me High Anymore
178. Polica - Lately
177. Dua Lipa - Hotter Than Hell
176. Bastille - Good Grief
175. DIIV - Is The Is Are
174. Mura Masa ft A$ap Rocky - Love$ick
173. Majid Jordan - Shake Shake Shake
172. The Radio Dept - Swedish Guns
171. M83 - Solitude
170. Certainty - Temples
169. liv - Dream Awake
168. Rainbow Chan - Nest
167. Nite Jewel - Boo Hoo
166. Lloyd - Tru
BROODS annoy me but that's one of their bops.
Blow Your Mind >>>> Hotter than Hell
OMG I forgot about the Lykke project....
I wish I liked Nite Jewel more but every time I listen I just always pay attention to other things. It can't grab me.
LMAO Solitude was basically the only song I liked on Junk. The album was a 4/10 for me
MJ
Phantogram
Didn't like Good Grief. But their album was actually decent from what I remember, only played it once

I think that's the only Broods song I like. Haven't heard many others. Blow Your Mind sounds too commercial for me.

Bastille ALMOST equals Coldplay. When will the awful British band invasion stop.
Does this mean I'll see Bastille in your countdown?

172. The Radio Dept - Swedish Guns
A few thoughts: I thought that Swedish Guns was weird at first but it works really well as part of the album, an odd dance-y song that I didn't expect; the M83 song seems a bit of a random choice from that album and the DIIV album was a bit dull iirc
