I disagree, I think the expression '
too fat' is key here. It implies there is a limit that has been crossed beyond acceptability - while "gained weight" is an objectional, unjudgmental observation.
Personally I think she looks completely fine and healthy and the point Bea was trying to make somewhere that 'this is the reason celebrities tend to have eating disorders' has some merit
