Recently, About.Com gave "Alice" 4/5 Stars while the Limelight raved that "Alice" by Avril Lavigne "captures Burton’s dark mood of the movie [Alice in Wonderland] perfectly". Meanwhile, the folks over at Digital Spy who seem awfully excited to see Avril back in the public eye said, "Alice is a big angsty ballad that rumbles like a giant's tummy at the end of a 72-hour hunger strike." and last but not least Top 40 praises, "There is a raw immediacy to [Alice] which grabs listeners instantly."

as well a clear example could be Taylor Swift not dance AT ALL and not 'fiting' with music industry style and HUGE in charts.
