Ciara had a bigger solo career. Anyone who argues different is a fool. Kelly never even had a platinum album before...
If we are talking 2013, Both of them are pretty much in the same boat. Neither are really slaying each other ...... Y'all are really going in circles about nothing..

Urban radio Kelly:
NEVA END #4
ICE #7
KISSES DOWN LOW #10
REPRESENTIN #12
DIRTY LAUNDRY #15
Kelly is absolutely doing MUCH better on urban radio than Ciara with no single doubt! If streaming was counted when ICE came out it wouldve been top 40 too on billboard hot 100. Also the rules were changed, so ICE and KISSES DOWN LOW were unable to hit top 10 on the r&b/soul chart but if it the rules stayed the same they all wouldve went top 10 just like Brandy's Put It Down. Brandy was lucky cause right after it became a hit, they changed the rules and she dropped like a rock! Kelly has been ALL over urban radio and has been the most played urban female artist of 2013 along with Rihanna, so don't get it twisted please. I rather have a lot of minor hits than just 1 hit (after 10000 singles) that became a top billboard hit because of streaming!
I'm Out is a big flop, it only went #26 on urban radio. The only hit this era is body party. The fact that I'm Out is flopping is a proof that urban radio is not supporting all Ciara singles while urban radio is embracing Kelly singles cause all her singles this era went AT LEAST top 15!!!

Oh and BTW since Ciara is a bigger R&B force why is she not selling more copies of her album than Kelly? Kelly sold like 50k more copies while, 'Ciara' came out right after it?!
NUMBERS DON'T LIE.

Instead of looking at single sales, why not look at album sales. Single success in the urban community can't really determent how good an album will sell.
So as of 2013,Ciara is NOT bigger than Kelly Rowland in R&B.

Yet her "worldwide" sales come from her DANCE hits in Europe thanks to Guetta.
And the thread is about the impact on R&B.
Try again.

The one with more Hot 100 hits.
The one with more R&B hits.
The one with the most Top 3 album debuts.
The one who is currently more relevant.
The one who doesn't have to mention the name Beyonce for an ounce of buzz.
The one who was nominated for BET & VMA's this year.
The one who actually performed and appeared at the BET & VMA this year
The ONLY ONE who is currently charting on the Hot 100 & Albums 100.

But Ciara's first album sold more than all of Kelly's put together, so what exactly are you trying to prove.........
Ciara's had WAYYYY more single success. Ciara has a bigger social media audience as well.

Do I need to keep reminding you.....
Body Party: #1 on Urban radio for Two weeks, Top 5 on Rhythmic, #22 on Hot 100 (Top 40 for ten weeks, so that first week streaming excuse...... it's ********), and #1 on Dance. Also, VMA nomination, BET Awards performance, while your Smelly Laundry couldn't even reach the spin cycle.
I 'm Out: #44 on Hot 100 (Higher than any single from Talk a Good Game; END/)
