The Midwest is split into the Midwest accent and The Great Lakes area(places like Chicago, Milwaukee Cleveland, Buffalo, Detroit) in terms of accents. Which makes sense because because there is a tremendous difference between life in and out of the cities there which can be very overlooked.
And all those cities listed above are very different cities from cities like Columbus, Peoria, Indianapolis, Des Moines.
