Carly isn't a one hit wonder..."Good Time" is Top 10 in most major music markets.

People are acting like Carly's career just died. Katy Perry OOTB debuted with 47K, and since that was a few years ago, my prediction was around 45K for Carly... and I was exactly right. Katy made a huge career for herself, and Carly can if she produces hits

Bruno already had an identity in music. He was bound to be huge, even if it was a slower climb. Katy Perry had an identity. Carly Rae Jepson doesn't have an identity, and that is how it's apparent that this album won't just explode.

Everybody knows "Call Me Maybe," but I doubt many people recognize "Carly Rae Jepsen" if you ask them randomly. You have to make people interested in you outside of one song in order to sell some type of records.

To be fair, when OOTB debuted, IKAG had just started to see success and hit top 5. Carly is coming off a, what is it, 10 week number 1 and another top 10 hit? Its not fair to compare them both.

By the time OOTB was released I Kissed A Girl was just taking off in radios though. It's not like Katy Perry already had 2 top 10 hits one of them being a 9-week chart topper...

Ok well it doesn't really matter. Lady Gaga also had a really low opening and she's huge now. My point is that first week sales don't indicate the future for her career, whereas many on here are acting like her career is over.
