Summertime Sadness was a top ten hit . And this era has been going on longer than 4 has so it was bound to go platinum
Summertime Sadness was a top ten hit without any promo. Interscope released only Video Games and Summertime Sadness as singles in the States, while Bey's 4 had 5 singles If I remember well.
They are alike somehow.... idk what it is really. I think it's that they're both the most likeable pop girls tbh. I'm not sure, but I've thought about this before as well. I dunno...
But "Tropico" was released before "Beyonce", and shot and teased when nobody knew about the latter... these "visual" comparisons in Lana's case are groundless
Please, I like Beyonce much, I listened to a couple of Lana's songs, but seriouly... if critics told you to eat poops, would you do it? and would you try to attack anyone who doesn't agree because "critics say so"?
I know you might be serious, might be not, but those braggings about critical acclaim as the only argument still look weird.
Lana ALWAYS had that ''old hollywood starlet'' character going on.
It seems you paid dust to my previous comment. Lana used to make homemade videos even before she became famous and Video Games was not an exception.
etc.
Goodnight.

Lana Del Rey is really just her label's way to exploit the hipster movement.
A Lana visual album would be genius. Her videos are out of this world, and don't compare to any of the pop girls.
I would love this. Not one big video for all the songs though, it would just drag.
