Lyrics of hedonist freedom whilst at the same time being dolefully poignant and plaintive. Someone could write an amazing political essay about what the house and the party represents and what it means when she sings both proudly and humbly that "we don't take nothing from nobody".

8. Mariah Carey feat. Miguel - #Beautiful
So everything that I could ever want from a Mariah & Miguel collab that I actually feel like it's exploiting me.

7. Paramore - Ain't It Fun
I can't with this emo-funk jam! Liviiiiiing in a big world. And the late addition of "'cause the world don't orbit around you" in the final chorus and the choir and like omg all these cherries on top of the icing of this amazing cake.

6. Kidnap Kid - So Close
Melts my entire BEING. Too gorgeous! The stabbing synths, the light vocal, I can't.

5. Amel Larrieux - I Do Take
Instant classic r&b ballad. So opulent, intimate and romantic sounding. LIKE THERE'S ENOUGH LOVE IN THE WORLD TO HEAL EVERY WOUND INSIDE - OH IIIIII. LIKE THERE REALLY IS A GOD.

4. Britney Spears - Work Bitch
Motivational ANTHEM. Endlessly sing/talk-alongable. LOOK HOT IN A BEE-KEE-NEE? Also literally the most beautiful, inspirational bridge ever created. And then the insane EDM beat and her satanic WORK. WORK. WORK. WORK. WORK. WORK. WORK. WORK. chant. Literally Blackout level.

3. The 1975 - Settle Down
Most joyful song ever created. The moment the instrumental section comes in I feel like life is a miracle.

2. Rudimental feat. MNEK & Sinead Harnett - Baby
Goes toooooooooooo hard. So deep! The fact that the drop IS the chorus. Literal bangerrrrr.

1. B5 - Say Yes
Don't even know where to BEGIN. It's a classic r&b jam yet it's sensibilities are almost, like, house? The "I want you to say yeah" buildup to the massive drop that is "I'MMA LAY IT ON THE LINE" aka the best line ever created and the best melody ever. And omg the COME ON AND SAY YOU DO-OO-OO-OO-OO bit. And the background harmonies. And how the first verse is literally more poetic than Shakespeare and writing it out on paper won't even do it justice because a lot of it is in the phrasing and the vocal holiness of whoever the main singer is. SONG OF THE YEAR/DECADE/MILLENIUM/MY LIFE.

"LFT" and "Favorite Star" are both ofc also amazing but I think "Hey Love" works the best as a standalone song.

"Sophomore" - a bit limp
"Body Party" - fire!
"Keep On Lookin'" - kind of basic attempt at an austere/hard track
"Read My Lips" - FLAWLESS
"Where You Go" - beautiful
"Super Turnt Up" - flop rap but otherwise good
"DUI" - not good
"Livin' It Up" - LITERALLY HEAVEN! Nicki using her rap to big up Ciara is so emotional and beautiful
"Overdose" - hot. Verses are so good although the chorus is a bit awkward

It's a mostly good album, but Basic Instinct >>>>
Plus, 3 of the best tracks ("Wake Up No Make Up", "Sorry (Future Remix)" and "Got Me Good") didn't make the album, as has become standard for Ci.
