Songwriting Background: Well, I've been singing since I was an infant, but I started writing poetry when I was 8; very dark and conscious stuff for an eight-year-old. I got into real songwriting in my sophomore year of high school. By the time I went to college, I wrote 200 songs. Since then I wrote almost double that amount. So, in addition to my high school songs, I've written over 500 songs. What baffles me about my writing is that I never take from personal experiences, but according to my friends & family you could never tell.

Yeah, writing about myself is hard for me too. I can probably write a Lifetime movie about my life, but writing a 'theme song' for myself is difficult.
