No, we are not oversensitive. She forced a necklace carrying the word "Allah" in an Ancient Egyptian setting when there was no Islam at the time and then turned it (and the guy) into sand. That's offensive to us Muslims and absolutely unnecessary. It has nothing to do with the video. At all.

The costume designer was wrong. They removed it and all is good.
What worries me though is, that they were able to re-upload it without losing the views. Does that also mean our "likes" and "comments" are still there? Isn't that illegal. I know this is not a "major" change in the video, but it's still worrying cause they could re-upload all kind of videos with likes and maybe we wouldn't even like the new edit/video.

Whoever did it probably didn't know what it meant. They were probably just looking for cool "middle eastern" inspired accessories and saw this qt necklace.
Either way, whether he was wearing the necklace or not I don't see how it's offensive in the least.
If she used a Nazi symbolism I think you'd be trashing her. That's kinda the same, have some empathy. Although I don't fully understand symbolism veneration, it was better to remove the symbol if some people were offended, it's not like it was that important in the mv.

Other stars have done so before, e.g. Jennifer's On the Floor where it changed a lot and Shakira's CRTFY where they edited her belly first but then left out the editing after it was noticed.
