I don't know how chicken tikka came up in an argument about Guyanese people, but it's not considered an Indian dish in India. It's like the British Indian equivalent of General Tso's chicken and other Chinese American takeout food. Regarding Guyanese people, people in India don't consider them Indians because they're so far removed. It's like how people in China don't consider Lucy Liu to be Chinese. She's considered an American of Chinese descent.
