So, because of them 'feeling attacked' it invalidates the argument? Or makes it worth less? Most politicians don't care about half the issues and only campaign for them to get votes, does that make them any less valid?

If you notice, I never once said in this thread that male rape is less important than female rape. I've actually stated that they're both very important issues.

Women are affected by rape culture everyday, it's a bit more urgent for us to discuss. We're still blamed for looking too "enticing' walking down the street in tight jeans. And we don't even need to be drugged or intoxicated to be raped. We could be attacked in an alley, in our cars, in the office, by cops, on the subway, etc. This doesn't happen with most male victims...unless it's another man raping them. Hence the reason we need to discuss this by looking at men as the main perpetrators and not women.
 @ racism against whites. What racism sis? Let's not.

You do realize that random back alley stranger rape is actually pretty rare, right? 2/3 of rapes and almost 3/4 of sexual assaults are carried out by someone the victim knew.

I don't care about "gender neutrality". In fact, when it comes to sexual violence, i'm against gender neutrality. Women are raped more (way more) and 99% of the time they're raped by men, therefore women take precedent in this conversation.
As for back alley rapes being rare, so is being raped or assaulted by a cop, but it's more likely to happen to me than to you. My point.

Even if it did happen "way more" (which is debatable; see my post in Crystalline's thread), so what? By that logic anti-homelessness campaigns should only focus on men because men make up the majority of the homeless population. And while we're at it, let's cut female suicide victims out of the conversation since most suicide victims are men.

If you get turned off on fighting against rape or rape culture against women because some girls hurt your feelings or are making you feel uncomfortable then that's on you and you're a terrible person who didn't care about it anyway. Like seriously is that easy to get you to say that you don't care about violence against women?
Sasha made some really great points here but you all have your blinders on yelling WHAT ABOUT MEN?!?!? Women are blamed for rape all the time and sorry to say but rape is mostly a male issue. Men are the committing a great percentage of rapes against both men and women so some sort of conversation needs to be had on male entitlement and rape culture
