Yep! I thought it was random at first too, until my friend was like Rosie's husband is alive. And then I looked into it, and although it was a very minute detail, this happened in Season 1:

Rosie's husband is def alive and they're gonna use this as part of her storyline between Reggie, Misser Spence and Ernesto
Thinking back, one of my friends made a good point. I think Pablo might have been shot. If he dies Genevieve gets her kidney, Zoila can't go back to him, expanding on her future with Javier and the baby, and it opens the door for Remi to console Valentina in her time of need, rekindling their love.
