In defense of "Defenders of Anarchy," that is a really ballsy pop song, especially for a movie soundtrack. I love the way the entire thing is sung by the group simultaneously. It's growing on me.
"Walk This Way" is a complete and utter mess. It definitely should have been the first song out.
"I'll Stand By You" is a solid cover: faithful to the original, but nothing special.
I think "Long Hot Summer" is cute. I'm not sure why everyone is hating on it so much.
"My Life Got Cold" is nice, but it's a bit of a letdown after the crazy energy of their first two singles.
Good, the songs so far deserved to be there, and all those Life got Cold performances, the music directors should get shot, that is no song for a choreo. Just nasty
Their rendition reached #1 in the UK but the following year was voted runner-up in a poll by Total Guitar magazine to find out the worst cover of all time
well, at least they looked hot in the video i gave it a 3...

"Long Hot Summer" was written for inclusion in the Walt Disney Pictures film Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), but plans fell through. It became Girls Aloud's first single to miss the top five on the UK Singles Chart.
Brian Higgins has expressed his disdain with the song: "It was making us miserable. Something had to come out and that was Long Hot Summer. It was made in a panic. It was a disaster record. I can't stand it."
And look at Kimberley, she can be part of Jersey Shore
Oh Girls Aloud i REALLY dont care for the single...The performance during the Chemitry Tour made me like it a BIT more, but still...they should have released ANYTHING else except this
Alexis Petridis of The Guardian, who praised Girls Aloud's album, said that "I'll Stand by You" was "a thing of death-dealing tedium."
However, Stylus Magazine actually commended the song, comparing it to Shakespears Sister and calling it "far, far better than anyone gives it credit for."
Y'all dragged another charity & cover single
surprised, cuz its actually one of their better covers...i placed in 15th in my ratings...with an 8

"Life Got Cold" received generally favorable reviews from contemporary music critics, although it did receive criticism due to the Oasis similarities. BBC called the song a "charming ballad" that was "a sweet but slightly sad pop song. However many Oasis fans have been angered by this song regarding it as a rip off of "Wonderwall" which has been generally rated as one of the greatest songs of all time, Girls Aloud dismissed claims of copying Oasis.
although I placed it at #14, it should STILL have been higher than some of the songs still here (I Think We're Alone Now )
its a great song, and a great video, really well done for them
