Then what's the point of releasing it? I'd understand it had they gone through with it sooner, but I think they've left it much too late. She should be gearing up for the release of a brand new album.

Those three new songs are not going to get thrown away just like that. They needeed to be released in some way since they still and only fit with the TD era.
